Pandora allows you to listen to free Internet radio. If you leave the application open, you can see the album art and radio controls, but Pandora will also run in the background if your iPhone has iOS 4 or later. You must manually stop your Pandora radio station. As of iOS 4, the iPhone is capable of multitasking, meaning it can run more than one application at the same time. Not all applications can run simultaneously, but Pandora is among the apps that will run in the background as you use another application. Unlike most apps, which automatically shut down when you hit the "Home" button, Pandora will keep working unless you manually stop the music before returning to the home screen. To stop your Pandora station from playing, tap the "Pause" icon in the bottom right corner of your iPhone screen. The music will cease to play and you can pick up where you left off the next time Pandora is opened, as long as you return before you restart your iPhone. If you power down your device, the application will not remember which song was playing the last time you used it.

I love pandora but can find no way to stop it playing when through listening. You can exit the app by navigating to the Recent Apps menu, finding the Pandora app and then swiping it away. However, generally there's no need to do all this -- you can simply leave Pandora paused. When Pandora is paused, it will use minimal data and battery, and the Android system will automatically close apps as it needs. Let's share music in the Playlist Swap. View solution in original post. When I navigate to Recent Apps it doesn't let me swipe it away. I can hit it and it gives me an option to uninstall or "force stop". I am not sure but I think force stop isn't to turn it off. If I paused then back out of Pandora then I can swipe off the screen and it closes, but sometimes will NOT swipe off and just stays there, running in the background.

The Pandora music app for iPhone is ideal for listening to music while working on small business tasks or while you're taking a break. However, after tapping the Home button to return to the iPhone's home screen, music from the app keeps playing because the app was never closed; it was just minimized to the multitasking tray. To close the Pandora app for iPhone, delete it from the multitasking tray. Double-tap the "Home" button on your iPhone. The multitasking bar appears along the bottom of your screen. Slide the bar to the right to navigate through open and recently used apps until you arrive at the Pandora app. Hold your finger against the "Pandora" app until all the apps in the multitasking tray start shaking. Tap the red circle with a horizontal white line through it in the corner of the Pandora app.
